[Oroton Spencer Griptop Briefcase.]

[What.] Oroton Spencer Griptop Briefcase. (Bag images from Oroton website - link below.)

[Why.] I have not always been a briefcase man. To me, the word evokes the image of a regulation-black, square, faux leather box, grasped tightly in the hand of besuited 1960's insurance salesman. However, the tan leather, and soft lines, of this bag certainly shatter that image!

[The damage.] AUD$595.

[Porsche Cayman S.]

[What.] Porsche Cayman S. (Car images from Porsche website - link below.)

[Why.] While the Porsche 911 is my first love, the Cayman has been by described by TopGear as "the most rounded Porsche of all".

It is more aggressive (satisfyingly so) and more powerful than its entry-level sibling, the Boxter, while remaining substantially cheaper (to the extent that any Porsche is "cheap") than the flagship 911.

TopGear concludes:
"Put aside any thoughts about this being a substitute 911. The Porsche Cayman is an entirely different, and entirely brilliant bit of kit. One of the finest handling cars on sale today."
[The damage.] USD$61,500.
